Hehe time to catch up on 4 days hehe im just a girl

Today was a more chill day but I still had a lot more fun than I thought. The morning was typical, I had a korean street toast from the cafeteria then headed to my GAT meetup. I had a really good green tea latte and then we talked about a bunch of random Korean-American topics, like feminism, fashion, curse words, etc… I feel like the meetings always pass by so fast because we are both so curious about each other’s culture.

Then, I headed to the gym and did a pretty weak leg day. Honestly, my stomach was very gassy so I was trying not to shit myself when doing leg workouts which probably made me weaker. I also think I am very critical of myself and I don’t think I go hard enough unless I’m literally collapsing in pain on the floor so I’m always disappointed.

Then, I had a very mid bugolgi lunch except the bugolgi was in a oily liquid that took away all flavor and the banchan was just kimchi, bean sprouts, and mayo covered apples. Yeah, for real…

Then, I came back to my room and showered + lazed around. I watched an episode of Community and then watched a clip that made me bawl because it was so emotional. Community is honestly such a great show, they have humor and serious topics back to back while also encapsulating the American spirit so well. I really like the characters, and at least in the earlier seasons the show was unbeatable.

After I got my fatass up, I went to a local hair salon to finally cut my hair and they were reservation only… I built up so much courage to walk in just to get rejected. Lowkey makes me want them more hahaha I’m gonna book them on Naver. Its only 12,000 won for a student…

I then was going to try to squeeze in a short let of the Seoul fortress hike (around 1–2km) but I saw the start of it and I knew what I had to do. It was around sunset, and the juxtaposition of the traditional fortress entrance with the rush hour made it so magical. I sat there with my boiled egg and my sparkling sugar free mango beverage and life felt pretty darn good…

Then, I headed to Ttukseom Hangang park to watch a drone show and got to see a free music performance right before the show. Honestly, the drone show was way cooler than I thought because they were perfectly in sync and it went with the music well. I really like English songs, and the drones flashing colors was so pretty along the dark sky.

After, we headed to a 7/11 on a boat and the entrance was literally being gatekept by an ahjumma making sure you bought something before getting to rest the restroom and sit down. We got a basket of butter garlic chicken and then finally got to pee. The chicken was really good, and we were so hungry that even if it was bad it was good. It was kinda awkward though because two girls were waiting for us outside when we said we were past the entrance of the 7/11 boat and they just thought we were outside while we were in the warmth eating chicken. And lowkey we did not wanna share so it worked out well in the end…

Last , we got them some drinks and just say and chatted on a random park bench. By this time, I realized I got a million trillion mosquito bites which will bite me in the future but thats a problem for future me I think.

Highlights:

  • Ttukseom Park
  • Heung-Injimun Park
