Now again, my day starts at 4:30am in Busan BUT this time we actually got up! Although we got there a bit after the sun started rising, which I realized was really hard to beat since we were watching the sunrise towards the East where the sun rises (with no buildings to block it).

When we got there, it was honestly disappointing because the temple was having some construction done on it so it was missing the peaceful, mystical look. I saw a reddit post where someone said they cried watching the sunrise, and I was so determined to go and also feel something. There was also someone using a loud-ass leafblower the entire time, so we didn’t even get the peaceful temple vibe. I did get some good pictures, though, and it probably would have been super crowded if we went later on.

After the temple, we wandered around the area and I got a quick sandwich for breakfast (ham and cucumber) but I would have eaten a lot more if I knew what we were about to get into…

We ubered to Magnate cafe, which was BTS Jimin’s dad’s cafe, to go there on his birthday and we took about 4 hours from getting in line to actually get our food. The drinks were expensive, and all the bread but croissants and cake was sold out. I ended up getting a basque cheesecake, but didn’t even finish it because it was too sweet and the same texture repetitively. Honestly, it was interesting to see the depths that people would go for their idol and how people brought gifts to leave for him via his dad, even though he probably wouldn’t even receive all hundreds of gifts.

After, we picked up our stuff from the hostel and dropped them at Busan Station so we could pick them up right before leaving to go home. We walked around the area, and visited the nearby Monoline and got to see the city from a elevated observatory. The others were dying from like 7 flights of stairs, so we made very slow progress, but it was cool to walk through on-touristy rural Busan and end the trip on a chill walk.

After, we got dinner at Busan Station (I finally got my Pork Gukbap) we got to walk around the station, which has gorgeous views of the nearby bridge, lit-up rivers, and traffic trudging through the center. It was a nice way to end the night, and I was satsified with the trip.

I napped on the way back, and then headed home after. Nothing notable, just uncomfortable!
